Werder Bremen have confirmed the capture of Sweden striker Denni Avdic from Elfsborg.
Avdic, 22, scored 19 goals in 29 games last season to end the campaign as the Swedish league's top goalscorer and will replace Hugo Almeida at the Weser Stadion following the Portugal international's departure for Besiktas.
Werder general manager Klaus Allofs was pleased to have snapped up Avdic, who flew out with the rest of the squad for some warm weather training in Turkey on Monday.
Allofs said: "We are very happy to have acquired Denni. He is a true central striker, who is always available, can hold the ball up well, is strong in the air, has a good scoring sense and works well defensively as well.
"The whole package just fits."
Avdic has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract.
