Moyes in effort to keep star names

David Moyes admits he is concerned about having to convince his leading stars that Everton still possess forward momentum and a vision for the future.

Citing Belgium international Marouane Fellaini in particular, Moyes is acutely aware that Everton's better players will need to be persuaded of the club's ambition following a quiet January transfer window.
The club are currently constrained by a lack of finance and Moyes will meet with chairman Bill Kenwright in order to assess how best to retain the players currently at his disposal.
Everton are currently just three points above the relegation zone following a disappointing season at Goodison Park.
"It is a problem and something as we go towards the end of the season that I will need to have a chat with the chairman and the board about," Moyes told Liverpool Echo. "Marouane is one of the important players for us and we have to keep a strong side together. We have to give them some hope and encouragement over what we are going to do.
"It is a discussion I can't have with the players at the moment, I need to speak to [the club]. You have to show the players around you that you are trying to progress and moving forward. I have always said that that is one of the key things about the football club, you have to show that you are trying to build and move forward."
